Whaddup RC Fam,
As we are waiting to hear who will win this election I want to remind you that no matter who wins or loses, Jesus is still King. Our faith, hope, and confidence are not to be found in any earthly leader or political system. They are secure in Christ alone.
So, regardless of who wins, as followers of Christ we are called to maintain our character and commitment to Him and live as ambassadors of Christ. We are to be the salt and light of the world (Matthew 5:13-16). Therefore we ought not react to any situation as the world does. Instead our reactions ought to point people to Jesus.
I would like to point us to the Word as we think about tonight and the next coming days…….
Walk in Humility
Philippians 2:3-4 CSB Do nothing out of selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than yourselves. [4] Everyone should look not to his own interests, but rather to the interests of others.
If the result is not what we hoped for, let us remain humble, gracious, and steadfast in loving our neighbors.
Pursue Unity in Christ
Ephesians 4:2-3 CSB with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, [3] making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
Let us remember that we are one in Christ despite political differences, and let us be intentional in working for peace and unity.
Pray for Our Leaders
1 Timothy 2:1-2 CSB First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for everyone, [2] for kings and all those who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.
Regardless of the outcome, we are commanded to pray for those in authority. Let us pray that our leaders may have wisdom, integrity, and humility in their responsibilities.
As we move forward, let us be known by our faith in the King of Kings. Remember that political systems will change but the Kingdom of God is forever.
Be Blessed
Pastor Tim
